PuttOUT - The next Level

Image
Golf practice aids, boring, right? So, when I was sent information about a new putting gadget, my eyes began to glaze over. I am of the opinion that golf training products can be, how would you say, retentive! The market is full of weird inventions that promise to improve your game, and I for one, have no intention of going out in freezing weather with some contraption strapped to my arms, legs, or any other extremity. But the PuttOUT is different, I could liken it to a ray of light in a very dark place!  The product duly arrived on my doorstep a few days later, and I opened the box with interest. From the off, it was obvious that a lot of thought had gone into it. This is not something knocked together in a shed, everything about it whispers cool elegance. The Concept Now for the all-important putting test. I must point out that the logic behind the PuttOUT is to help you improve those short three or four foot putts that we all should make but usually go to pieces over. The

Great Golf Photography - Kevin Murray

Image
Great Golf Photography - Kevin Murray I've worked in the Golf industry for nearly 20 years. Firstly as creative director on the Callaway Golf European account. At that time there was a lack of great golf course images. I was asked to work on a joint project with Callaway and the St Andrews links trust. I took a shot of a nearby golf course to show the style of photography I wanted to use. The designs were presented to St Andrews who asked Callaway who the photographer was. The marketing department asked could I shoot all of their courses in the same style. I said I think I could and so that was my first commission. 8 years later I've shot nearly 400 courses worldwide. So mostly I'm waiting for the golfers to move out of the

Malaysia - Golf in the Gateway to Asia

Image
Malaysia - Golf in the Gateway to Asia Malaysia is like a number of countries rolled into one, where Asian cultures mix freely and take root. It is also an incredible place to play golf where a wild jungle is as likely to be your backdrop as a shimmering city. I didn't know what to expect fromMalaysia. In my imagination, I thought it would be hot, wild and exotic. A quick glance at a guide book confirmed my suspicions with images of jungles and rare beasts aplenty. And while Malaysia didn't disappoint, what came as a total surprise was the sheer diversity of the place.      From the gleaming Petronas Twin Towers which soar to 450 metres above the buzzing metropolis of Kuala Lumpur to the dense, impenetrable jungle and all its inhabitants, Malaysia is a country of extremes, and everything in between. What surprised me was that both were accessible within a 40-minute drive of each other.      From my city centre retreat at The Sheraton Imperial, I could easily see that the cou

Number 10 Golf Stole My Brain  £12.99 This may be the answer as to why he spends too much time on the golf course! Golf Stole My Brain is filled with previously unpublished stories and is illustrated with some of the funniest, most unusual golf photographs ever. Whether it is the story of how Al Capone managed to shoot himself whilst playing a round, or the German farmer who filed a lawsuit against a nearby golf club claiming they had 'murdered' thirty of his cows, absolutely nothing is out-of-bounds! Dale Concannon has written a wonderful book that lets us in on the captivating story of golf and the manic obsessives who have earned a place in legend with their whacky fairway antics. This book is a trawl through the best a
